Company History: Glass Instruments, Inc. was founded in 1946 by 2 skilled glassblowers and enterprising businessmen, Sidney Parker & John Simpson. Since 1972, Thurston LeVay, a Mechanical Engineer with considerable experience in electronics, has managed the company.

Since 1957 the company has been located in this same location, with all of the production & administrative facilities under a single roof.

What we do & for whom: We have produced custom light sources for divisions of DuPont, Varian, TRW, Hughes and many other manufacturers. We have also supplied precision projects to USC, Cal Tech, UCLA, numerous hospitals and other academic research groups as well as numerous O.E.M. companies and specialty items for the entertainment industry. We specialize in prototyping and moderate production runs.
